Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction These terms apply to driving tuition provided by Tay's Driving School and to the use of this website. Specific arrangements are agreed directly with your instructor before lessons begin.

2. Driving lessons Lessons are provided as one-to-one tuition and are tailored to the learner's experience, ability and goals.

3. Eligibility and provisional licence Learners must hold a valid provisional driving licence and meet the legal requirements to drive on public roads in Great Britain before practical tuition can take place.

4. Learner responsibilities Learners are expected to attend lessons fit to drive, to bring their licence details when required, to follow the instructor's guidance and to comply with road traffic law.

5. Instructor responsibilities The instructor will provide professional tuition, honest feedback and a safe learning environment appropriate to the learner's stage of training.

6. Lesson scheduling Lessons are arranged directly with the instructor. This website does not operate an online booking system.

7. Lesson duration Lessons are normally charged by the hour. Longer sessions can be agreed in advance where suitable.

8. Punctuality Please be ready at the agreed time and place. Lessons finish at the scheduled end time so that following lessons are not affected.

9. Cancellations Cancellation and rescheduling arrangements are agreed with the instructor. Learners should provide as much notice as reasonably possible if they need to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Any applicable cancellation charges will be communicated before lessons are confirmed.

10. Rescheduling Requests to move a lesson are accommodated where the instructor's schedule allows.

11. Late arrival Where a learner arrives late, the remaining lesson time may be shortened so that later lessons are not delayed. The full lesson may still be chargeable.

12. Missed lessons Lessons missed without notice may be chargeable. Any charge will be in line with the arrangements agreed before lessons are confirmed.

13. Payment Payment arrangements and accepted payment methods are agreed directly with the instructor. Online payment is not taken through this website.

14. Block bookings Block bookings may be available and are arranged directly with the instructor.

15. 10-hour package A 10-hour block is offered at £360. Payment arrangements for blocks are agreed before training begins.

16. Intensive courses Intensive training concentrates lessons over a shorter period. The structure depends on the learner's experience, availability and goals.

17. Semi-intensive courses Semi-intensive training offers a middle ground between weekly lessons and an intensive course, and is tailored to the learner.

18. Refresher lessons Refresher lessons are available to qualified drivers who wish to rebuild confidence or improve particular skills.

19. Motorway lessons Motorway training can be arranged where the learner or driver meets the legal requirements for motorway driving.

20. Pass Plus Pass Plus training can be discussed with your instructor.

21. Theory test support Guidance and support with theory test preparation can be provided alongside practical lessons. Booking and sitting the theory test remains the learner's responsibility.

22. Practical test preparation Lessons can include focused preparation for the practical test. Booking the test remains the learner's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

23. Use of the instructor's vehicle Where the instructor's vehicle is used, it must be treated with care and used only as directed during tuition.

24. Vehicle safety The instructor is responsible for ensuring the tuition vehicle is roadworthy, insured for tuition and maintained appropriately.

25. Instructor discretion to stop a lesson The instructor may end a lesson early where it is unsafe to continue, including where a learner appears unfit to drive or behaves in an unsafe manner. Such lessons may be chargeable.

26. Weather and road conditions Lessons may be shortened, rearranged or cancelled where weather or road conditions make tuition unsafe.

27. Illness and safety Please let us know as early as possible if you are unwell. Learners must not drive if illness, medication or any other condition affects their ability to drive safely.

28. Learner conduct Abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour will result in tuition being ended.

29. Special learning requirements Please tell us about any special learning requirements before your first lesson so training can be adapted where possible.

30. Disabilities and reasonable adjustments We aim to accommodate learners with disabilities wherever possible and will discuss reasonable adjustments with you.

31. Multilingual support Multilingual support may be available. Please ask about your preferred language and availability.

32. Test-day vehicle arrangements Use of the tuition vehicle on test day is subject to availability and must be agreed with the instructor in advance.

33. No guaranteed pass We do not guarantee a practical or theory test pass. Test outcomes depend on the learner's performance on the day and the assessment of the independent examiner.

34. Changes to lesson arrangements Lesson times, locations and training plans may need to change occasionally. We will give as much notice as reasonably possible.

35. Refunds Where a refund applies, it will be handled in line with the arrangements agreed before lessons or blocks are confirmed. Please contact us to discuss.

37. Privacy Information you provide is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

38. Website information Information on this website is provided in good faith and may be updated at any time. Prices and availability are subject to change and to confirmation with the instructor.

39. Limitation of responsibility Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our responsibility is limited to the tuition provided.

40. Changes to these terms These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page is the current version.
